There’s a new website called Blogsvertise (it was set up last year) which lets bloggers earn some income from their blog, if they so wish.

Being a rather curious person, I like to try out different versions of the same thing. Such as webhosting companies, and almost everything else from bath products to food—it’s the whole “variety” thing I enjoy.

On a side note, this was the first Christmas (and first time) that I had some pheasant, which was really pleasant.

I signed up at SponsoredReviews a few months ago. It was the first place that accepted my blog. Naturally, I thought they must be good. So far, I haven’t made a single cent from any of the assignments. My Pending Advertiser Approval still shows the number “6”—if the advertiser chooses not to accept or decline a blogger’s bid, the opportunity automatically expires after 60 days.

I hope Blogsvertise doesn’t work the same way. From what I’ve read so far, Blogsvertise assigns the tasks to you straight.

Since I’m on this topic, I’ll muse a little more on this whole subject of blog monetizing.

I think it’s not unethical per se to make some money from a blog/website. I have to admit that when I first knew about bloggers getting paid to blog (maybe 3 to 4 years ago), I thought it was quite terrible.

However, I guess it’s also up to you to decide on the content of your blog, and how well you want to make it work for yourself.

Now that I’ve had several blogs (3 are currently active), I know it can be a lot more work than it looks. I spend the same amount of energy as I would on anything else that I write—thinking of the right words, the length, editing, and in web-context, thinking of SEO and proper links, so on and so forth.

I select what I’d like to blog about with discretion. For instance, I know that “credit cards” are a hot keyword, but I’ve never been—and don’t think I’ll ever be—a fan of owning multiple credit cards, so it’s highly unlikely you’ll see a blog post on that anytime.

I find blogging fun and challenging (believe it or not), which is something I never thought I’d say a few years ago.

My first priority in life right now is still to be a published novelist. I try to ensure that anything else I decide to do, is both enjoyable and worth my time.

“Blogging”, included.
