James Valles, a Chicago area native, serves as anchor/reporter for AmericasReport.com.
Valles joined AmericasReport.com in 2008 after launching the blog-powered news site, upon graduating magna cum laude from Columbia College Chicago with a B.A. in journalism in 2005. He also studied journalism at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
Valles blogs, anchors, and produces several daily Web & Mobile casts that have been featured and distributed to other online media outlets worldwide.
Previously, Valles worked at WBBM-TV CBS Chicago as a reporting intern and as a general assignment reporter at the University of Illinois’ “The Daily Illini” newspaper.
Valles began his television career at WSIU-TV PBS 8/18 as a general assignment reporter, writer, anchor, and editor.
Valles is fluent in Spanish and holds dual Spanish and American citizenship. He is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and holds a Special Distinction membership with the National Forensic League for speech, debate, and acting.
Valles currently resides in Chicago.
