Bulldozer Attack:
A Palestinian smashed a bulldozer into a bus and several cars this morning in Jerusalem, killing three people before being killed himself. The rampage left dozens injured in the city center before a police officer engaged the driver, struggling with him in the cab of the vehicle, and shooting him dead. One witness said of the attack, “I saw [the bulldozer driver] crashing cars and going into the bus… He wanted to kill as many as he could.”

With a same-sex marriage ban on the ballot in Florida, John McCain and Barack Obama have staked out their positions on what could prove to be a consequential issue again this Fall. Both candidates have weighed in on the California ballot initiative that would override the state’s supreme court ruling legalizing gay marriage: Obama opposes the ban, and McCain supports it.
The candidates characterize the measure differently. McCain calls the campaign to amend California’s constitution an effort “to recognize marriage as a unique institution between a man and a woman.” Conversely, Obama stated that he opposed “the divisive and discriminatory efforts to amend the California Constitution.”

Barack Obama was on the Fox Business channel yesterday where he played a little rapid-fire word-association game — the one word he thought of when presented with another. Like cookies, and milk. Discontent to let O have all the fun, Liberty and I wanted to play along, too. It was surprisingly tricky! Now here’s your mission: pick Obama’s answer from the ones that Liberty and I gave. Warning: it’s a scary peek deep into our minds. . .

Transportation police in the UK might be losing a safety tool: Muslim passengers are objecting to the use of danger-sniffing dogs, saying that the practice is against Islam. According to the religion, dogs are considered to be spiritually “unclean.”
Though the animals may be able to touch passengers’ luggage as a more acceptable alternative, the ban may hinder the effectiveness of dogs who’ve been trained to identify terrorists. Though a police spokesman said sniffer dogs would still be used regardless of faith, but handlers will be vigilant of “cultural sensitivities.” The chairman of the Islamic Human Rights Commission disagrees that the measure is enough, saying that even dogs touching baggage would be an issue for a Muslim preparing to pray. He stressed the importance of finding a method to allow dogs to check passengers without physical contact.

Besides a guest appearance on Saturday Night Live, one rally in April, and some hosting duties at home in Arizona, John McCain has taken the last 20 weekends off.
Each Saturday and Sunday he plans no campaign events and hides from the media. While out of the spotlight, McCain rests up, reviews policy, and privately meets with advisers and contributors, according to Politico. Since McCain admitted he doesn’t know how to use a computer, we know he doesn’t spend the time catching up on his email.
